The Confucius Institute at The University of Queensland has partnered with UQ Life to bring to our students and staff at UQ free Tai Chi classes each Thursday in March and early April. This is an ongoing initiative in conjunction with UQ Life to offer a number of FREE weekly events for all students and staff throughout Semester 1, 2019.

For further enquiries, please email business.manager@confucius.uq.edu.au

The first of these free classes begin on Thursday March 14.

Originating in ancient China, Tai Chi is one of the most effective exercises for health of mind and body. Although an art with great depth of knowledge and skill, it can be easy to learn and soon delivers its health benefits. For many, it continues as a lifetime journey.

Anyone regardless of age or level of fitness can practice and benefit from Tai Chi. Loose, comfortable clothing and flat shoes should be worn to classes.

Tai Chi can help provide many benefits when practiced over a lifetime, including helping to:

  • Produce a refreshed, greater mental focus
  • Create better sleep patterns
  • Create good body posture
  • Promote muscle fitness.

Dates (Thursday):  March 14,  March 21, March 28, April 4, April 11

Time: 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

Location: The Great Court (grassed area), St Lucia Campus.
