The University of Queensland has continued to excel at the 17th “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Proficiency Competition, reflecting the consistent performance of the students and UQ’s Chinese program. The "Chinese Bridge" Chinese Proficiency Competition for International University Students is an annual, large-scale international contest sponsored by the Office of the Chinese Language Council International (Hanban) in Beijing and is well-known in cultural and educational exchanges worldwide. The winners of first place and second place will go to China for the final international competition.
The 2018 Queensland Preliminary Competition, hosted by the Tourism Confucius Institute at Griffith University in conjunction with the Confucius Institute at The University of Queensland, was held on May 19th at the Griffith University Nathan Campus. A strong field of Queensland-based contestants participated.
This year’s theme for the competition was One World, One Family.
