Camp Hill State Infants and Primary School-2020 Graduation Ceremony

Award for Academic Excellence in LOTE-Mandarin

Graduation is always a tremendously important date in our school calendar. It marks the transistion from primary to secondary schooling and provides a wonderful opportunity for our community to celebrate the distance travelled and the many and varied achievements of our students.

In 2020, organising our Year 6 Graduation Ceremony presented a challenge for us (and many other schools). This was a challenge that we were determined to overcome. Consequently, we hired a beautiful, large venue to accommodate social distancing, allowing us to continue the tradition of inviting family members to celebrate this important milestone.

For the sixth year, our school was very honoured to have The Confucius Institute at The University of Queensland as the sponsor for our Award for Academic Excellence in LOTE-Mandarin. This award recognises an outstanding level of achievement across all assessment areas in LOTE-Mandarin.

The extremely generous sponsorship of the Confucius Institute allowed a very worthy recipient to receive not only a framed certificate and book voucher, but also an engraved medallion. His name has also been added to our perpetual shield. The student and his family were delighted to be acknowledged by such a well-respected international institution.

As a whole school community, we would like to sincerely thank Professor Ping Chen and all of the wonderful staff at the Confucius Institute for their ongoing support for our school. This has greatly assisted our efforts in continuing to develop our whole school Mandarin program, as well as, raising the profile of Chinese culture and Mandarin across our local community.
