UQ students excel in the 2016 Chinese Bridge Chinese Proficiency Competition

The "Chinese Bridge" Chinese Proficiency Competition for International University Students is a large-scale international contest sponsored by the Office of the Chinese Language Council International (Hanban) in Beijing, and is well-known in cultural and educational exchanges worldwide. The competition is held yearly and is organised and carried out by the Organising Committee. 2016 represented the 15th "Chinese Bridge" Chinese Proficiency Competition. To date nearly 600,000 college students from 110 countries have participated in the competition.

The 2016 Queensland Preliminary Competition, co-organised by the Tourism Confucius Institute at Griffith University and the Confucius Institute at The University of Queensland on 14 May 2016, attracted a number of excellent performances from Queensland-based university students.

Congratulations to all students that participated, including the 10 UQ students placing in their respective categories. Congratulations also to the winners selected to travel to China as part of the major prize to represent Queensland in the International final in July.
