On December 1, 2016, the Confucius Institute at UQ in conjunction with UQ and QCASE arranged and facilitated a workshop for research students new to Brisbane. The ‘Workshop for publishing your research in top journals’ drew an audience of 150 China Scholarship Council (and other) students from Brisbane-based universities keen to learn the fundamentals of research activity in Australia.
The workshop welcomed a number of key speakers from UQ including Professor Mingxing Zhang on Study in Australia, Professor Zhiguo Yuan on a systematic approach to publishing research in high-impact journals, Professor Ling Li on the importance of questions in research/paper writing, Professor Jin Zou on Academic Integrity, and Ms Fei Yu on Data Management.
This workshop, now offered on an annual basis provides students with a key opportunity to raise questions and interact with academics and professionals in research. Importantly, the workshop also highlights the wide range of services, support and resources available to new research students, particularly at UQ.
