10 April 2019

On April 8, 2019, the Confucius Institute at The University of Queensland (UQ CI) successfully facilitated and supported a workshop for incoming researchers into Brisbane universities. Over 100 students, primarily of a post-graduate level and from the China Scholarship Council (CSC) program attended the workshop titled ‘Workshop for publishing your research in top journals’.

The workshop, run over a number of years, again welcomed UQ Professors and specialist staff to present on the various fundamentals of research activity, particularly for the benefit of students new to a research program at a Brisbane-based university.

Facilitated by UQ Professor Jin Zou (who also spoke on academic integrity), the workshop welcomed guest speakers Professor Mingxing Zhang (speaking on safety), Professor Zhiguo Yuan (Scientific writing skills) and Ms Fei Yu (data management) who offered guidance and advice on their respective topics.

The event concluded with barbeque for attendees and academics, offering a further opportunity for an exchange of ideas. The Confucius Institute at UQ was pleased to support this event and to contribute to the development of research skills and pathways for incoming university students.
